Comeback

They say that there's a three second time period for someone to voice a comeback, otherwise it's just a comment. But when you have dial-up, that's impossible. So here goes:

The White Stripes are dilettantes posing as musicians.

No offence intended. :)

1 March 2006

It really excites me when election day nears, a whole day dedicated to the future of the country. Then once your vote's cast, there's a fresh little black dot smiling up at you from yor left thumb, and a flawless new stamp in your ID book. Of course none of you fuckers would know how great that felt, having not voted and all.

Maybe in a few weeks I'll let go of the resentment I have for everyone right now, I'm pretty sure everyone's already sick of my seemingly holier-than-thou attitude, but for now, I'm still fuming.

The worst excuse that I've heard from everyone (which just so happens to be the most poplular) is: "oh, but I didn't register." You may as well have a sticker on your head reading "not only stupid, careless and inconsiderate, but lazy too".

Enough bitching, I've done enough of it since Wednesday. I'd just like to say that there's always a rebutable argument to for any excuse one may offer. Such as, if you like the country the way it is, vote ANC. If you don't agree with any of the policies, abstain. The minority is deciding our future here, and I can't believe nobody cares.

All I'm saying is please, before we "forget" to register for the next elections, before we prematurely refuse to vote, let's just consider it as an option. Democracy is about having a choice, so we shouldn't let others make the choices for us.

Thank to the following: Mom, Dad, André, Kat, Lynn, Cameron, Jo, Tom, Hanray, Leon, Herman, Marietha, Matt, Harold, and everyone else who did vote.
