Inspiration

I have been revelling in a black hole lately. Nothing seemed to surprize or intrigue me. I was even starting to worry about my future. Usually I am interested in a lot of things but for the past few months my only dream was to sit on a couch and watch Friends or Scrubs all day. Then it happened.

I was late for my first class at varsity, expecting a rightly justified repremanding from my new lecturer. But he didn't flinch. He continued with his lecture and what a lecture it was!

I have been totally engrossed and in awe of this man for three days now. His abundant knowledge and thirst thereof astounds me! Every film that is mentioned in class is well known to him. He knows the plot, the characters, the director and the actor's names. As a film critic and scriptwriter, it would be obvious that he has some intellect, but his passion and fervour are admirable.

Our assignment is to write a treatment for an eleven minute (screen time) story taking place inside a train compartment, one character (male or female), a glve, a suitcase and a half-eaten hamburger. Thanks to much brainstorming and a wonderfully innovative boyfriend, an imaginative tale emerged. Of course I should be writing it now, but we all know my idiosyncratic demand for procrastination.

I'm just so overwhelmed by how one person can affect another so. Well, I'm glad he got me thinking creatively again, and if for no other reason, I was beginning to believe I was incapable.

Diminished Novelty

The back page of the January issue of Cosmopolitan discussed blogging. It seems that this has become quite a popular pastime. I sincerely hope that blogging will now not become the contemporary form of communication. Just as SMS's have boomed in such a short period of time. Because if that is the case, I have no hope.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

It has indeed been a substancial amount of time since I have blogged. It'f funny how when you get into it, it feels unnatural to skip a day, but when a few days pass blog-free, the need sort of dissipates. There are a few things that need to be said though so I will push through this stratoshpere and once again, the condensation of my unrelenting blogger spirit can commence.

First of all: Happy New Year! But I will get back to that later.

Wait. I've changed my mind. I'm not really in the mood to write at present. Through no fault of my own actually, it's just that I'm using a computer whose keyboard is foreign to my tainted PC fingers, and it is quite an ordeal just to get out a sentence.

The topics I was hoping to bring up are as follows:
(Writing them out now removes the possiblity of the fogetfulness that has recently taken over my fragile mind)

1. Bridget Jones' Diaries: Novel vs Film
2. The year ahead
3. Miscommunication
4. Self-absorption
5. Tess

No particular order really, just some stuff I want to get off my chest. And there are more things but they're just momentary ideas so by the time I write again I will have lost my momentum and will most certainly go off track.
